~ Manny Jr. : Manny Ramirez Jr. is transferring from Central Arizona College to the University of San Francisco this year for Division I college baseball. The 18 year old is 6'4" and 215 pounds.
Ramirez Jr. went to high school at IMG Academy in Bradenton,Florida. He was a .331 hitter and was named to the Rawlings 2013 Florida All Region First Team.


BRUCE BADENHOP

 Red Sox aquire Badenhop : The Red Sox announced yesterday that they had traded minor league LHP Luis Ortega to the Milwaukee Brewers for Bruce Badenhop. Badenhop who is 30, played in 63 games last year going (2-3) with a 3.47 ERA. His overall record after six year in the majors is (18-20) with a 3.98 ERA in 280 games total. Luis Ortega who is 20,played in rookie ball last year and posted a (3-3) record with a 2.45 ERA in 12 games. He was signed as a international free agent two years ago and his overall record is (9-6) with a 2.25 ERA.

~ Yu Darvish gets medical O.K. :  Yu Darvish who finished 2013 with inflammation is his lower back,was examined by Dr.Drew Dossett earlier this week in Texas. A MRI showed the inflammation from nerve irritation had subsided. Darvish will now be able to go through his normal offseason throwing program. He will work out in Texas for a few days before returning to Japan.

~ Bill Mueller heads for North Side : Bill Mueller has been named the new hitting coach of the Chicago Cubs.Bill's recent employment was as a scout with the L.A.Dodgers. Mueller won the A.L. batting title as a Red Sox in 2003.
