DUSTIN PEDROIA NAMED WILSON'S A.L. DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR




Dustin Pedroia has been named the American Leagues Defensive "Player of the Year" by Wilson last night.

The awards are starting to roll in for Pedroia,who only last week won his third career "Gold Glove".

Pedroia will have surgery to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb on Tuesday.There are reports this surgery may have been more complicated than originally thought.

It is now believed they will have to take a tendon from his wrist and attach it to his thumb.

His recovery time is now expected to be six to eight weeks.
