~ The Mayor's new 'Walking Stick: Boston Mayor Thomas Menino will be retiring after this term after being Boston's mayor for almost 20 years. After a leg injury in April the mayor needed a wheelchair to get around. As his recovery progressed he graduated to a cane,Ted Kennedy's cane to be exact. Now thanks to Red Sox fans Garry and Lynn Smith,he will have a much more fancy way to get around Boston. It is a baseball bat fashioned into a 'walking stick'.The couple spotted a man at Comerica Park in Detroit with a similar cane. The inquired where he purchased it from and followed the lead.It is inscribed 'Mayor Tom Menino,World Series Champs,2004,2007,2013.
