Mike received a offer of a multi-year deal from the Red Sox but like Steven Drew he might want to "test" the market.
It now appears that all three players who were made "Qualifying Offers" will adopt a "Wait and See" approach.
Napoli landed in Boston with a three year contract last winter.
During his team physical it was discovered that he had Avascular Necrosis (AVN),a hip condition.In simple terms it is a condition that occurs with a loss of blood to the bone.As our bones are "Living Tissue" that requires blood and a interruption to the supply of blood will cause the bone to eventually die.
Although Napoli hit .259 last season with 23 HR's and 92 RBI's his condition could get worse with age.
There have been no reports of what the Red Sox have offered him.
The deadline to accept "Qualifying Offers" is 5 pm EST on Monday.
