ROBINSON CANO AGREES TO 10 YEARS WITH SEATTLE

ROBINSON CANO
Robinson Cano has apparently agreed to a ten year $ 240 million contract with the Seattle Mariners.

If the figures are correct, this deal would tie the Albert Pujols deal with the Angels as the third-largest in MLB history.

The Mariners, do not confirm contracts until physicals are completed and the contract actually signed. Therefor they issued the following statement, "We are not able to confirm any news regarding Robinson Cano at this time. If and when an agreement is completed and finalized, we will announce".

The Mariners, who have not made the postseason since 2001, hope the signing will revitalize baseball in Seattle. In the past decade the Mariners have watched the NFL Seahawks and the NBA Sounders become more popular.

The contract itself could be a nightmare, especially the second half of it when Cano is 36-40 years old.

The Mariners are not done yet. They have more money to spend. Even with signing Cano, they only have 'King' Felix as the other eight figured player on salary for 2014.

They need more than Cano if their going to make this work.
