~ Roy Halladay to retire as Blue Jay: Roy Halladay has retired from baseball after sixteen seasons. He has signed a one-day contract with the Blue Jay's, so he can retire as a Blue Jay. Halladay won the Cy Young Award twice, once in the American and once in the National League. Halladay was 203-105 with a 3.38 ERA in 416 career games.

~ Ortiz wins Edgar Martinez Award: David Ortiz has been named the winner of the Edgar Martinez Award as the game's most outstanding DH for the seventh time. He was a unanimous pick of broadcasters and public relations departments of AL clubs. Ortiz is the career leader among DH's with 381 home runs and 1,245 RBI's.


CURTIS GRANDERSON
~ Granderson lobbs a bomb: Curtis Granderson while being introduced as a New York Met, lobbed a bomb for the New York tabloids, "A lot of people have told me real New Yorkers are Mets fans". That should get them going.

~ Mark Trumbo to Arizona: Mark Trumbo has been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in a three team deal. Arizona will get Trumbo and two players 'to be named'. Arizona then gives Adam Eaton to the White Sox and left-hander Tyler Skaggs to the Angels. Left-hander Hector Santiago goes from the White Sox to the Angels.
