~Victorino has thumb surgery: The Red Sox have announced that Shane Victorino had surgery on his right thumb,Monday. Dr. Thomas Graham, preformed the 'nerve release surgery' and Victorino is expected to be ready for spring training. The thumb injury is one of the many ailments Victorino had last year, including back and hamstring problems.

~Tanaka 'Latest': Yesterday the Rakuten Golden Eagles were trying to persuade Masahiro Tanaka to stay in Japan. This morning there are reports in the Los Angeles Times that they will grant his wish to be posted after all. The new 'posting' system has a maximum bid of $ 20 million so there should be no shortage of teams looking to sign him.
