~ 'Papi's' beard sells for $ 10,877.77 : The trimmings from the beard of David Ortiz has sold for $ 10,877.77. Proceeds will go to Movember, a men's health charity that encourages men to grow mustaches in November, while raising money and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. 

~ C.C.Sabathia new salesman for Yankees :  Yankee fans responded to the their team's downturn last season by staying away. Attendance dropped 7 % & YES Network viewership dropped 31%. So there was Sabathia last week pushing tickets in the Times and Daily News. Sabathia has become the 'front man' for ticket sales due to the questions surrounding the Yanks roster next year. No news if Derek Jeter would show up in promotions.

~ More Twins money ! : According to reports this morning Phil Hughes will sign a three-year contract worth $ 24 million with the Minnesota Twins.  Hughes had a 4.74 career as a starter. Against the Red Sox he had a 5.70 ERA in 77 1/3 innings.
