~ 'SALTY' TO SIGN WITH MARLINS: Jarrod Saltalamacchia has agreed to a three year deal worth $ 21 million with the Miami Marlins. Sources indicate 'Salty' chose the Marlins over the Minnesota Twins.
~ GARCIAPARRA HIRED BY DODGERS : The Dodgers new sports network - SportsNet LA, have hired former Red Sox Nomar Garciaparra as a new commentator. Although roles are still being figured out, Nomar will probably be doing the pre- and post-game shows.

~ EVAN CHAMBERS 1989-2013 : Evan Chambers a 24 year old prospect in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, passed away in his sleep over the weekend. The cause of death is currently unknown. Chambers, who was a outfielder, was a Pirates 3rd round pick in the 2009 MLB Draft. He was injured for all but four games last season at Double-A.
It is with a heavy heart that we extend our sympathies and prayers to the family and friends of Pirates minor leaguer Evan Chambers.
